The Company Nigel Howat, Founder Nigel was born in Liverpool, England and arrived in the U.S. via Germany. Prior to emigrating to the U.S. Nigel and his partners worked in East Germany, a country run-down after years of neglect and in dire need of re-building. Nigel and his company spent more than 10 years paving roads, gas stations, apartment complexes, parking lots and recreational areas. An avid nature lover, Nigel fell in love with the beautiful surroundings of Marin County, decided to settle here and presently set out to enhance the look of homes in the area. Since establishing The European Paving Company, formerly Dream Driveways, in 1999, Nigel has trained a team of pavers and together they have paved driveways, patios and walkways throughout the County. His unique paving style ensures a surface that will not sink or separate. A Family Affair After working in Hi-Tech for more than 10 years, Nigel's daughter, Hayley Kaslar, joined the company in early 2001. "It has always been a dream of mine to run a family business." said Nigel, "Hayley is as enthusiastic about the company, the product and designs as I am, and we are both extremely excited about creating and installing new looks for our clients' homes and gardens." |
