Upon completion of excavation, the team begins the process of laying down the sub-base.

Several yards of 3/4" crushed rock are delivered to the site and the team immediately begins to distribute the rock, filling the excavated area to previously set levels. The rock is compacted several times creating a solid sub-base for the pavers.
Once the sub-base has been compacted, the team spreads concrete sand evenly over the entire area, this process is called "screeding". The pavers will be laid directly on top of the sand.
With the sub-base perfectly in place, we are ready to lay the pavers. In this case we are laying Red/Tan/Charcoal Calstone cobbles in a random pattern.

Excavation and Preparation
Preparation is key to a lasting installation. If you have ever seen pavers that are displaced, sinking or raised, you can be sure the pavers were not installed on a properly prepared sub-base. Our years of training and experience in this field ensures that your new driveway, patio or courtyard will last a lifetime (and beyond!)
Laying & Cutting In
The pavers are laid individually at an amazing pace and we can quickly see the new driveway and courtyard taking shape.

The final step consists of cutting in pavers at the Soldier Course (Border)
